Rudraksha has been worn on the wrist and neck for centuries — the bead most associated with calm, clarity and protection. Paired here with an Om charm and a hand-tied tassel.

Three per set in assorted designs, because brother in an Indian family means the cousin, the neighbour's son and your best friend too. One order and everyone is covered.

The cord is braided rather than glued, so it survives longer than one afternoon. Most brothers keep wearing these into the winter.

Why this piece

How to wear
  • Tie it on the right wrist — the traditional wrist for a rakhi.
  • Apply tilak first, then tie the thread, then the sweet. Roli-chawal is included in the box.
  • Pull the knot firm; the cord is braided so it will not slip loose.
  • After Raksha Bandhan it can be worn as a bracelet or kept in the display case.
Style tip

Once Raksha Bandhan is past, the tassel can be trimmed off and the rudraksha strand worn as a plain bracelet.

Best day to wear

Raksha Bandhan itself — Friday 28 August 2026. Tie during the shubh muhurat window.

Care & cleansing

Care

  • Keep away from water, perfume, sanitiser and chemical cleaners — natural stone and rudraksha dull on contact.
  • Remove before bathing, swimming and sleeping.
  • Wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Do not soak.
  • Store in the pouch or box it came in, away from direct heat.

Cleansing

  • Every piece is cleansed and energised before it is packed, so nothing is required from you before wearing or tying it.
  • If you want to refresh it later: leave it in moonlight overnight, rest it on a selenite plate for six to eight hours, or pass it through sage smoke.
  • Do not use salt water on strung beads — it weakens the cord.

  • Ships in a YourRaahi box with the piece secured inside.

Frequently asked questions

Is the rudraksha real?

Yes, these are natural rudraksha beads, which is why the surface grain and colour vary slightly between pieces. Moulded imitations look identical to each other; real ones do not.

Can a rakhi be worn after Raksha Bandhan?

That is the point of this one. The cord is braided rather than glued and the bead is real, so most brothers keep wearing it for months instead of pulling it off the same evening.

Which wrist does a rakhi go on?

The right wrist, traditionally. Tilak first, then the thread, then the sweet.

Will it fit an adult wrist?

Yes. The cord is adjustable and covers roughly 6 to 8.5 inches, which fits most adult men.
